Writing a blog post takes a lot of work. Once you’re done, transform your post into 6 other pieces of content to share with your followers.

Good job, your text is done! After all the hard work you’ve put into your text, it would be a shame to leave it there. With a little extra work, you can repurpose your blog into several other pieces of content that you can use, for example, on your social media channels.

It’s a good practice for two reasons: First of all, the additional pieces of content attract readers to your site to read the whole post. And, secondly, since they are interesting content on their own, they provide added value also to those who never leave Facebook or Instagram but only see your content there.

So it’s a win-win! And this is how it’s done:

1 Quote

→ Pull out a compelling quote from your text – it can be your own thought or maybe something your interviewee has said – and transform it into a visual social media post. Canva is my favorite tool for creating social media visuals, and Adobe Express is popular, too. TailorBrands offers social media templates that are already matched to your brand identity.

2 Behind the scenes

→ Show your followers a glimpse of your day-to-day life behind the scenes. Share photos of you with the person you interviewed or how you organised a photoshoot around new products that just became available.

Showing a little bit more about yourself lets your followers in a little closer and nurtures the unique relationship you have with them.

3 Video

→ Create a short video that summarises the most important take-away of your blog post and share it with your followers. With apps like Magisto or PlaceIt you can create videos quickly and easily.

4 Facts & figures

→ Following the same pattern with the quote, you can choose some interesting facts or figures from your post and use them to pique your followers’ interest.

5 Do a live question and answer session

→ If you’ve created a thorough step-by-step blog with a lot of instructions, pop-up live on Facebook, for example, to answer the questions after the publication. With a short appearance, you can engage with your followers in real time and provide even more value for them. In addition, thanks to the questions they ask, you’ll get plenty of ideas for your next blog posts.

+ Guest blogging!

Guest blogging is a good way to get your ideas and name in front of new potential readers. Ask the bloggers with similar interests if you could write a guest blog post for them. Usually you’re not paid, but you get a lot of visibility, and your host gets quality content.

By putting a little bit extra effort in repurposing your blog, you have engaging and interesting social media content for at least a week or two.

Uplevel your social media game and never lose another follower to competition again.
